Hello fellow CBT community,
This is Cesar, your CBT - HOA President. I'm reaching out to you as a father, grand-father, and member of this community. I'm sorry to inform you of some recent news regarding our Pilcher Park. We have discovered signs of graffiti on the playground equipment and the pavilion.
Similarly, the port-a-potty which has been a nice benefit for parents with kids has recently experienced abuse. This month alone the port-a-potty has been tipped over 5 times, the last time being this past Thursday. On a separate occasion, several kids were spotted trying to see how many they could fit inside of the unit.
Friday, there were some kids who came later to the park on a golf cart as it was getting dark. They were being disruptive and were asked to leave. Upon leaving they were rude and shouted vulgar responses on their way out.
With the weather getting warmer it's normal to see our kids wanting to get out. But, if these are signs of what's to come this summer then we need everyone's support here to nip this problem in the bud. As the saying goes "it takes a village" to raise our kids.
We are reaching out to the McHenry County Sheriff's office to report the graffiti property damage. If the port-a-potty continues to be abused we will have no choice but to have it removed.
Please share this news with your family for awareness and encourage them that if they see something to say something.
Regards,
Cesar and the CBT Board.
Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention, Cesar. I have also noticed a group of youth whose actions concern me.
The first concern I took note of is that my next door neighbor had a contractor on their property late last week doing some yard work and the group of youth were passing by walking and the youth started yelling swearwords in Spanish and English at the individual along with some other pretty ugly language.
The second occurred just yesterday. I ran an errand and upon my return (around 7:30 PM) on Connecticut, between the park and the Maine Trl circle there was a group of youth again walking, one on a bike, toward the direction of the park. Our windows were down and when passing them, I caught a smell of cigarette smoke that entered the car window. So this concern is more of a notice to the parents in the area who may find this information beneficial.
