About Us

The neighborhood of Covered Bridge Trails is most noted for its landmark covered bridge entrance off Walkup Road in north Crystal Lake, Illinois. First established in 1969, the neighborhood was developed over the course of several years, which gives the homes in CBT a blend of architectural styles. Large lots and plenty of mature trees provide a peaceful country feeling. With wide streets and little traffic, walking, running, and bike riding are common activities. The Association maintains a park located on Connecticut Trail with a large green space, playground equipment and a pavilion -- the site for many neighborhood events. Wildlife abounds in Covered Bridge Trails with deer, rabbits, foxes, sugar gliders, owls and even a few wild turkeys.

Community

Covered Bridge Trails feeds into three public schools. North Elementary D47, Hannah Beardsley Middle School D47, and Prairie Ridge High School D155, all excellent schools. The neighborhood is conveniently located 2 miles from Downtown Crystal Lake and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line to Chicago. Close by you will also find Veteran Acres park and Sterne's Woods & Fen with miles of walking and biking trails. Crystal Lake and the neighboring towns are home to many retail options including Jewel, Mariano's, Meijer, Wal-mart, Home Depot, Menard's, Target, Sam's Club and Costco.
